The Summer of Connecter
Huge things are incoming, and we’ll share as much as possible to prepare you for all of them…

We looked at the analytics of several software development tools and noticed that the lion’s share of the work on Connecter is done during the summer. There’s something in the blistering heat outside that makes us do more. Maybe it’s the fact that most of the team is located in a city that often clocks 40 °C, and it’s far better to stay inside.
So, staying true to this tradition, our developers are putting the final touches on the next big release. Normally, their work is like that of a real ninja — hidden in the shadows and completely invisible until the big final swing… erm, launch.
We want to change that. Actually, we want to change a lot of things around our public communication. Here’s what to expect from us in the immediate (and more distant) future:
Connecter 6
“Plans are made to be changed”, and our initial plan to release version 6 didn’t come to fruition. But there’s a very good reason for that.
Our team grew, and we realized we could create a much more polished version with the newly added power. Again, recognizing the importance of Connecter in the workflows of all of you, we’re putting far more emphasis on testing than ever. Our goal is to add massive new features and ensure we’re disturbing your everyday work as little as possible.
The steps outlined in the roadmap will be fulfilled to the fullest, and we’re even adding USD support for good measure. Here comes the first big communication change:
Expect a new video showcasing an unreleased feature each week on our YouTube channel!
They’ll drop around Wednesday and will continue until the release of Connecter 6 in September 2023. Subscribe now, and stay in the loop.
It’s fair to say that Connecter 6 is the biggest release we’ve ever developed, outshining 5, and with the potential to change your workflows forever. The new features, combined with some older, undervalued ones, can make creative collaboration so much better.
We can’t wait to share more in the upcoming weeks!
Updates on the 3ds Max & Cinema 4D integrations
Some new features don’t have to wait until September. Thanks to the clever updating system, we’ll release the promised updates of two of the most popular integrations.
3ds Max is getting the much-awaited rework proxy workflows, along with several bugfixes and improvements:

In a few weeks, the Cinema 4D integration will be upgraded to the level of the 3ds Max, which means tons of new options and workflows.

Apart from the green bubble on top of the Connecter interface, the new version will be announced in this blog and social network channels, so make sure you follow us.
Revived blog & newsletter
Truth be told, Connecter’s blog looks like the chief editor’s flower garden after a summer vacation and zero watering. Barely living. That’s about to change.
Apart from the standard announcements of new Connecter updates, and its integration, you’ll find useful articles published biweekly. For now, there will be two main “series”:
- Around the DAM — our take on the general topics surrounding digital asset management and the available solutions. Take a look at our first post delving into what Digital Asset Management is.
- Get to Know Connecter — playful guides and answers to some of the most common questions.
Follow the blog or sign up for our newsletter to receive notifications for all these posts. We’ll send a short recap of all stories at the end of each month.

Brand new guides
Speaking of common questions, we’re actively working to improve the state of our guide section. A big part needs to be updated, and some of the useful new guides are hard to find as they’re spread in different places.
That’s why, thanks to the expanded team, you’ll find a completely new set of guides, and most importantly, all in one place. There will be information on every major topic, and with your help, we’ll fill the gaps in the future.
The new system used for the guides will allow for the easy creation of support tickets and will host a public forum where you can discuss ideas with us and the community.
The new guide section will be unveiled with Connecter 6. Until then, make sure you follow Connecter on:
